Wire EDMing is considered a high precision machining method. Recently we purchased a wire EDM to machine our product tooling, fixtures and gauges. Wire EDMs don’t make chips, they burn away metal with a continual feed of electrically charged brass wire that vaporizes the conductive material regardless of its hardness. There’s no tool force on the wire because the wire never touches the workpiece.
We use cutting-edge technologies and resources to stay competitive. We decided on a Sodick SL400Q wire EDM because its technology. Our Sodick wire EDM uses linear motor drives with glass scale feedback on the X,Y and U,V axis to cut complex and precise parts. The EDM erodes conductive materials leaving a smooth surface down to 10RMS and part accuracy within +,- .0001". We’ll continue to invest into the latest machining technology in order to give our customers the best possible parts.
